ReplyDeletesherman was a funny tank, its hard to call it a tank it was a coffin on the wheels, lol
ReplyDeleteSure they were death traps, but at their arrival they were one of the best tank that could easily take on and win against current germans AFV's with short 75mm and 50mm cannons.
ReplyDeleteNo mention of the up-gunned Sherman Firely, fitted with the powerful British 17 pounder anti-tank gun as its main weapon?
ReplyDelete...German Tanks=Sharks...
ReplyDelete...American Tanks=GoldFish...
...No matter what country they fought for all these Soldiers deserve our Respect...
...LOL! U GO BOY!
ReplyDeleteAlso just though of that, have to go blast some shermans with my tiger :)
ReplyDelete...makes me want to play World of Tanks...wth, going on my SPG to blast some Tankies!
ReplyDeleteBrave men. Great men.
ReplyDeleteActually this is Season 10 Episode 23
ReplyDeletealso named the ronson , lights up first time every time
ReplyDeletePanzer crews referred to the Shermans as "Tommy cookers" due to their habit of going up in flames after taking a round in the right spot, and the manner in which the poor lads inside met their end.
ReplyDeleteGreat upload!
ReplyDeleteGood vid
ReplyDeletethe Shermans helped bring the U.S to victory and the germans to terror.
ReplyDeleteBefore i thought the Sherman was badass, but when i saw this documentary...it's now a pile of shit to me.
ReplyDeleteBest documentary that i seen of this type.Every another is simply not objective.
ReplyDeletekamikazee tanks
ReplyDeleteBetter known by the German's as th Zippo or the Ronson !! All of My respect to the Guys that Crewed these Tanks & had the Hard Core Courage to climb back into these Tanks day in & Day out , when they knew it wasn't as Armored as the German Tanks that They went up against !! m/
ReplyDeleteThanks for the upload. More thanks to the Greatest Generation, for making this response possible.
ReplyDeleteErrors: The "heavy" term for 1st, 2nd, & 3rd Armored was due to their modified 1942 organization; M5 Stuarts were used in these Divisions. 4,000 plus vehicles, many with trailers, end-to-end, stretch a lot more than 10 miles. Panzer IV & Panzer V translate to Tank IV & Tank V. The term "mark" is a mistake, introduced by the British. There's more but, no room here to mention them all...
tommy cookers

Yes, those tank crews did their jobs, and thats only because they had no choice in the matter, and that they had to use what they were forced to use.
ReplyDeleteAlso do remember, if it werent for Allied Air Supremacy over Normandy, there wouldve been alot more Panzers rolling around everywhere in Normandy and the D-Day Invasion could have possibly fail.
You are right sir but the men still did there jobs in spite of all this. That's why they are the greatest generation.
