Made of Honor - Automatic Aluminum Donut Maker by Sears, Robuck and Co. Recipe #1, called "Best" [not my submission] Donuts. Yes, the word "Best" is in quotes! Not enough chew and moistness for my buds. Thank you thrift store. Video Rating: 5 / 5
- I see many varieties of these aluminum donut makers sold all the time on eBay. Do a search for "vintage donut maker". I just did a search and found over a dozen being sold. Good luck.
Here is the recipe from the box, but I do not recommend it. It's nothing special and i would not call it "best":
2 eggs 1 cup sugar 2 tsp melted shortening [fat] 1/2 tsp salt 3 cups flour 2 tsp baking powder 1/4 tsp nutmeg 1/4 tsp cinnamon 1 cup milk.
Beat eggs and sugar together. Add cooled shortening. Add sifted dry ingredients alternately with milk. Mix thoroughly and put into Donut Maker. French fry at 375°. [I found I needed to add more milk to make the batter flow]
ha i just bought one at a garage sale .50 cents
