www.kitchenables.co.uk Discover how to make ice cream without an ice cream maker. Delicious, creamy, homemade ice cream - and it takes just 10 to 15 minutes!
The recipe relies on having a high butter milk content in order to freeze properly, and I'm not sure what effect melted chocolate might have on the consistency (and it might also stop it from freezing properly).
If you want to give it a try, I'd say that using a chocolate milkshake syrup to flavor it would have the highest chance of being successful. Not proper chocolate, but I think you'd need an ice cream maker to use real melted chocolate instead.
The mixture is hot when you stir it into the yolks, so they should cook. However, I don't know how well cooked the yolks would need to be not to affect your allergy, so you should either avoid the recipe or check with a doctor first. Sorry!
no need for pods unless the orchid is in your garden. forget vanilla. use extra powder whole milk or cream, powdered whole eggs, and powdered molasses instead of their nasty flavors. food has a flavor. personal stocks of dehydrated food reduces trips, fuel, crowds, diseases, and we can remove a million useless employees, reducing the price to zero. - james mcashan for the US Senate
Yes, you should be fine with whipping cream (although I haven't tried it myself). I don't think anything lighter than whipping cream will work well though...
